I've spent the last ten years making funny stuff on behalf of brands like LEGO, Google, Lenovo, and Nickelodeon. Most recently, I was head writer on two seasons of LEGO's YouTube series Brick Click. I've written copy, run writing rooms and social channels, and pitched directly to clients and studios.
I'm also compulsively punctual and own the world's dumbest dog (but those are just fun facts).

LEGO wanted a live-action, creator-centric comedy series that would help age up their brand presence on YouTube.
Make LEGO a real YouTube show, not an ad. We borrowed formats the audience already watches, like challenges, guessing games, and head-to-head battles, and made the bricks the thing everyone's competing with. Scripted setups, unscripted reactions, so the comedy feels real.
As head writer, I led a two-writer team through episode ideation across two full seasons — 32 long-form episodes and 32 shorts — while serving as a creative point of contact between the production team and LEGO's brand team. I developed episode themes, segment concepts, LEGO build ideas, and host intro/outro segments, and wrote on-set.
Every episode ran on a named, repeatable format. Each one got a name, a tagline, and a set of rules, then a new fandom got plugged into it — Star Wars at WonderCon, Minecraft in studio, NASCAR at the Iowa Corn 350. Here is one format and one episode built from it.
Beat The Buzzer drops our hosts into the middle of a live fandom event, pairing them with fans to go head-to-head in a series of timed mini-games. Whether it's rattling off the most Star Wars characters, speed-building LEGO soccer balls, or surviving a surprise musical challenge, every mini-game delivers fast laughs, big reactions, and playful banter between the hosts — capturing moments that feel straight from the heart of fan culture.
Season 2 heads to WonderCon Anaheim, where Isaiah and Harri face off in a series of Star Wars-themed challenges — sometimes head-to-head, sometimes recruiting convention cosplayers to battle alongside them. Rounds include a LEGO Throne Room lightsaber duel between Luke and Vader minifigs, a scramble through a LEGO Sarlacc Pit to rescue cantina characters, an aerial battle with SMART Play X-Wings and TIE Fighters, and a race to line up LEGO starships correctly before time runs out. Every win moves the needle on a light side vs. dark side scoreboard — whoever masters the Force takes home a customized LEGO Millennium Falcon trophy.
EXT. WONDERCON - DAY
Isaiah (dressed as a Jedi) and Harri (dressed as a Sith) exchange looks from across a table as intense orchestral music plays. The LEGO Smart Play Throne Room is set up between them.
This is ROUND 1: THRONE ROOM BATTLE
Harri
Isaiah… I am your father!
Isaiah
NOOOOOOOO!
Isaiah grabs LEGO Luke and Harri grabs LEGO Darth for an epic lightsaber battle in the throne room set, complete with lightsaber SFX and flashing smart bricks. Whichever host knocks the other player's minifigure off their pedestal celebrates!
Both hosts turn to camera to explain what's happening.
Harri
What's up, guys! We're here in Anaheim at one of the world's biggest fandom conventions!
Isaiah
And today, we're competing to see which side of the Force is stronger: the Light side…
Harri
…or the Dark side.
The hosts reveal a scoreboard, which looks like a Face Pain Chart between "light" (blue) and "dark" (red) with a Darth Vader LEGO minifigure in the middle. For each game that Isaiah wins, Vader moves towards the light side. For each game that Harri wins, Vader moves towards the dark side.
Harri
Every time one of us wins a game, our side of the Force gets stronger. And whichever one of us is more powerful at the end of this video gets a mystery Star Wars LEGO trophy…
Isaiah
Since [I/Harri] won the first round, that means the first point goes to the [light side/dark side]. But we're just getting started. Let's go!
Long-form episodes were paired with short-form YouTube Shorts built from the same brief. Here's one, from brief to finished Short.
Season 1: 30M+ organic views, 150K+ engagements, and nearly 1M channel subscriber additions across 16 episodes. Season 2 is releasing now.
Google wanted a flagship YouTube series to drive awareness of its partnership with Niantic and Pokémon GO.
Turn awareness into participation. Viewers chose their own training track (Music, Fitness, or Exploration), then posted their own training to #PokemonGOFest2021 for a chance to be featured by the Try Guys.
As lead writer, I developed the branching narrative and scripts for the 12-video interactive series, built around three training tracks. I also wrote the campaign's social copy: brand-channel posts for @googleplay and a per-creator toolkit for the Try Guys and four guest creators.
Brand-channel copy and the creator toolkit, next to what the creators actually posted.
The day is here. Make a post that pushes viewers to the YouTube Choose Your Own Adventure content.
10M+ views across 100+ campaign assets, 700K+ social engagements, and a 50%+ retention rate past the intro video.
Past Gas is Donut Media's flagship auto-history podcast and the #1-ranked show in its category. I wrote 29 episodes during its original weekly format, before the show was reconceptualized into 12-episode seasons.
I was promoted to lead writer with rewrite authority for the first season under the new format, focusing on narrative clarity, tonal consistency, and factual accuracy — bringing my total to 41 episodes written for the show.
NOLAN (Narrator):
Lloyd Seay found himself lying in the dirt. He was bleeding. Badly. He looked over and saw blood similarly gushing from his brother's neck. They had both just been shot by their own kin. And he wanted to know… Why? Twelve hours earlier he had won the biggest stock car race in the sport's short history. And now he was dying in a feud over moonshine.
You probably know that alcohol was illegal in the United States from 1919 to 1933, an era known as Prohibition. You might even know that a group of bootleggers went on to help found NASCAR. But the intertwined histories of moonshine and cars go a lot deeper than that.
It was four redneck rum runners in particular that basically invented engine mods and as a result brought both backwoods hooch AND stock car racing to the masses. Who were they? And how did their efforts to outrun the law turn into a modern day racing behemoth? Grab a mason jar of White Lightning and settle in, because today on Past Gas we're talking about bootlegging and burnouts… This is the story of stock car racing's very first pro team.

Comedy is dying. Help me save it.
Can you guess how many websites there are that pay comedy writers?
Seven.
That's not a typo. Across the entire world wide web, I found seven humor publishers with an open submission policy and guaranteed payments. Chortle is one of them.
How often do you actually laugh?
Let's be real — laughter is harder to find than ever. Except here. Maybe you chuckle when we make fun of America's most important idiots. Or maybe you prefer our posts about dating or parenting or aging. Whatever the case, Chortle sends you comedy five days a week, like clockwork.
